To be a successful in business today you need to have a large set of skills in all areas of business from technology, finances, marketing, sales, administration, creative thinking, networking etc.
A small business owner does not have all that, as do the large companies, who can afford to create departments to bring in the necessary skill-sets . By considering a small business mastermind group, with an independent board of directors, this can then change and move any business forward fast to overcome the roadblocks and bottlenecks that can occur.
This is where support from others is very important to achieve the goals that the business owner sets for themselves. It is then time to search for the right group to put around them.
Businesses fail because the owner has the mindset that limits them from seeing the world from a different and objective perspective. An independent board of directors is a small group of business people, who all own their own businesses, who give their advised wisdom on challenges that arise for others from their perspective.
You are now probably wondering what I mean, ‘masterminding gives you an independent Board of Directors’.
From my experience I know that this is a very important factor in masterminding. Having your own independent board of directors, is one of the greatest advantages that my Business Mastermind Groups gives all participants. Each group has a maximum of six business people, all who have been selected for their ‘thinking mind’, their skill-sets, level of business knowledge and experience and they all own their own business or are the decision maker.
I have found through trial and error, over the last nine plus years, that all these are relevant for a successful group of entrepreneurs, to have their own level of success. It is necessary to remember that success means different things for each of us, so this is important and is taken into consideration as well.
Age and gender have no bearing on this. What the most important factor is that these other people, who you may or may not know prior to the group, all have NO invested interest in your business, other than they like, trust and respect you. They are there in the group to support you to reach the goals you have set and you likewise, do the same for them. By giving of yourself, you then receive back in return.
This Board of Directors is accountable to each other thus making it easier to work through challenges that come along. There is a process in place that supports this to happen. You set your own overall strategic direction through goal setting and the group supports you to make it happen.
I use two different tools as ‘thinking’ profiling systems that gives each of us the ability to understand how each of our minds process information. We discover our own sensory styles and values, and learn how to communicate more successfully ourselves with our clients and friends. We are only able to see life and business from our own experience. By learning to open our peripheral vision and see life from another’s perspective, we will get our outcomes in all areas.
These tools also give us the ability to understand who we need to put around us for success and growth. It also shows us how to recognise and gain the skills we would not have been able to achieve before. By understanding the value of our own innate skills and how to find others with the skill-sets we ourselves find difficult, is made easier.
By having your own Board of Directors your business can only move ahead and support you to reach what you want easier than you had ever imagined.
